ABOUT THE AUTHOR

..."she killed them and you know she did because you took her there".

Killer Ending

Sophie Tatum was born in 1978 in Exeter, Devon, the first of many locations she was to live in over the next forty years. During that time she has lived many lives. At age sixteen, Sophie was the last of three siblings to move out of the family home in Bournemouth, spending the first two years of freedom sharing floor space with her older brother in a local squat, whilst attending college to study A-Levels in English Language, Psychology and Sociology. At the end of her courses and with no real intention of leaving, Sophie's brother revealed he had applied on her behalf to several Universities to study English Literature and the offers came flooding in. In 1997, Sophie left her home town to move to London and start the Degree her brother didn't want her to miss out on.

Sophie started her new life in London working as a barista in the heart of the West End, where she found herself serving coffee to the rich and famous whilst studying Bachelor of Arts English Literature at University.

Mostly estranged from her family, Sophie spent the next five years surviving in an unforgiving London, moving seven times during that time into precarious rented rooms all over London. During that time, Sophie held on tightly to her dream of becoming a published writer, the escape into different worlds of her creation bringing comfort to what was an often arbitrary existence.

In 2002 at the age of 23, Sophie married for the first time and that same year gave birth to her first child, a beloved son Cory. A few years later in 2008, her daughter, Isabel, her very own Thumbelina, was born. Determined to give her children every drop of the love she had missed out on, Sophie devoted herself to raising her children, refusing to miss a single precious moment and becoming a stay at home parent.

In 2011, driven by something as yet unknown, Sophie made the difficult decision to leave her husband and start a new chapter in her life. Determined to carry on being there for her children, Sophie found ways to work at home and registered herself as self employed, spending the next several years working as a proofreader by day and something else entirely by night, her life quickly becoming a bizarre and contrasting world that she kept secret from everyone.

In the near future, Sophie intends to document that part of her life in a book of memoirs documenting the work she did.

In 2016, Sophie's life was to change again and she met and married her second husband. With her children becoming increasingly independent, Sophie decided to look for work outside of the home and for the first time in years, Sophie found herself back in the real world working as a Veterinary Receptionist, a role she still thoroughly enjoys.

However, the Universe will always be the great equalizer, it always has the last say.

In 2018, after a brave battle, Sophie's ex husband and the father of her two children, was to lose his fight with cancer, an immeasurable blow that became the driver for Sophie to revisit her old dream of becoming a writer. With grief framing her life in bright lights, with the successes, failures and regrets laid out in it's unforgiving glare, Sophie decided that life was indeed too short to not make the most of the talents given to us, too short to betray those who have believed in that talent and encouraged it.

In 2019, Sophie will be releasing her debut novel, Killer Ending, a gripping Psychological Thriller
